As both a non-drinker but an occasional smoker, I'm perplexed by the recent decisions taking place at Eastgate club Lincoln . A ban on smoking and vaping has been implemented aimed at promoting health and well-being, yet these very same locations continue to serve alcohol and less than healthy snacks. Far from seeking the ban of such commodities, this decision to ban smoking and vaping reeks of hypocrisy. 

In England, it's estimated that 14.4% of the population smokes, and the number of vapers has increased exponentially since 2012, reaching 2.8 million in 2020. A significant demographic is being marginalized in favor of a seemingly skewed shade of health promotion (Ash.org.uk, ONS).

Our request is simple: if we are to champion health and well-being, let's do it equitably. We are urging the implementation of a designated outdoor smoking/vaping shelter to accommodate the community of customers who smoke or vape. This not only promotes health and well-being by setting clear boundaries for smoking but provides a more inclusive environment for all of our community.
