Inscribe Memorial Stone in Brooklyn's Holocaust Memorial Park for Oct 7th Massacre Victims

The Issue

🎗️In memory of Shiri Bibas, her children Ariel and Kfir Bibas, and countless others.💙💕🇺🇸🇮🇱Inscription of Memorial Stone at Holocaust Memorial Park, Brooklyn, NY in memory of the Victims of the October 7th Massacre in Israel.

On October 7, 2023, a bloody massacre of Jews occurred in southern Israel, claiming the lives of many innocent victims. The terrorist group Hamas that ruled the Gaza Strip perpetrated the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust.  Hamas had the “same intention” to wipe out the Jewish people as the Nazis. More than 1,200 Israelis have been killed by Hamas and more than 2,000 Jews were injured. Many women and girls were raped and their bodies were mutilated. Entire families were killed. Babies were burned inside houses.Terrorists also kidnapped more than 200 men, women, and children to hold them as hostages. This tragic event has left a deep impact on Jewish communities worldwide, including those in New York.

In memory of those who lost their lives and to honor their legacy, we propose the engraving of a commemorative stone in the Holocaust memorial park at the entrance to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn which was designated in 1986 by New York City to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust. We strongly believe that the bloody massacre of Jews on October 7th in Israel was a continuation of the horrors of Holocaust. Hamas tried to kill all Jews in southern Israel.
We, the undersigned, are petitioning the NYC Parks Department and the Holocaust Memorial Committee for the engraving of a stone in the Holocaust Memorial Park in Brooklyn, NY. This stone will serve as a lasting tribute to the victims of the October 7th massacre in Israel, ensuring that their memory is preserved and honored within our community. We believe that the addition of new engraving on such stone would significantly increase the park's educational and commemorative value. It will serve as a powerful symbol of remembrance and resilience, allowing visitors to reflect on the atrocities of the past while inspiring hope for a more compassionate and just future. This new inscription will serve as a prime example that Holocaust and vicious anti-Semitic hate are not just past history of the 20th century, but unfortunately, in the case of the October 7th bloody massacre, a stark reality even in the 21st century. Many Holocaust survivors and their families repeatedly compared the atrocities of October 7th with those of the Holocaust and expressed their desire to see the lasting memory of the victims to be mentioned in the Holocaust Memorial Park.
We urge the Southern Brooklyn community, as well as individuals worldwide, to support this cause. By signing this petition, you are standing in solidarity with the October 7th victims and their families, and helping to ensure that their memories are preserved in a place dedicated to remembering the atrocities of the past and promoting peace and unity in the future.💕Every signature counts, and your support could make a huge difference.
