If this Inquiry is properly conducted, it would reveal that there are serious issues with the lack of oversight of Municipal Building Standards Departments. Clearly, there must be changes to ensure that there is proper oversight. Minister Mauro has now been in his role for about seven months, but he has not responded in any meaningful way to any of the issues raised about the lack of enforcement of the Ontario Building Code.
