We are in a climate emergency and I would like to do everything I can to reduce carbon emissions. As such, I am building a  sustainable house in Newtown, Sydney. To be able to be self sufficient for energy, I need all the roof space I can get.  At the moment I am not permitted to install solar panels on my front roof due to heritage constraints. I am very supportive of heritage goals, but I fear many of our heritage buildings will be at risk from environmental disaster if we don't significantly curb emissions. So, I am asking the council to consider permitting me to install solar panels on my front roof so that I can have energy security and so that I may reduce my carbon footprint by as much as possible.  Thanks!  Laura Ryan owner of 'the ImPossible House'.
