Clinton Residents Against the Industrial Waste Dump (CRAIWD)
Jun 13, 2018
IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE ROUTE 145 INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING FACILITY IN CLINTON, CT. As most of you will remember, the New Jersey trash recyclers recently withdrew their proposal for an industrial waste recycling facility in our town wetlands, but they kept the option open of returning with the new proposal for the same site. In a further development and in response to the obviously dangerous nature of the proposed Route 145 industrial waste recycling facility for the Clinton, Connecticut wetlands, members of the Clinton Planning and Zoning Commission who care about the welfare of our town and the health of its residents are in the process are proposing TOWN REGULATIONS THAT WOULD PREVENT SUCH HARMFUL FACILITIES from being sited in our town wetlands. A public hearing on these new and much needed regulations has been set for July 30, 2018. Unfortunately, some of the extreme "pro-development" members of the Clinton Planning and Zoning Commission, particularly GARY BOUSQUET and ADAM MOORE are arguing strongly against the regulations that would protect our town from industrial waste dumps in our wetlands. We will soon be posting videos here of the proceedings of the most recent Clinton Planning and Zoning Commission meeting where everyone can see for themselves who is standing up for the health and well-being of the residents of our town and who places the needs of out-of-state developers above those considerations.
