Initiating Change - Autobody Repair Industry Challenges - Advocating for Fair Pay

The Issue

As an AMVIC Licenced, Auto-Body (Collision, Claim & Restoration) Repair shop owner, a 2nd-Year Blue Book Trade Registered Autobody Technician-Refinisher, and the main policy holder of a Canadian Auto Insurance Policy, I am deeply affected by the exploitation and archaic application of the Automotive Insurance Act, and Insurance Companies of Canada. This issue is not unique to me but resonates with many in our industry who are grappling with similar challenges.

The autobody repair industry is currently facing significant hurdles. We need to start a conversation about change in regional labour and refinish time rate-pay, as well as reimbursement for paint and materials, and additional operations. It's high time we shed light on these issues that are crippling our businesses.

Insurance companies regularly fail to adequately compensate repair shops for their services. This has led to unjust difficulties which many shops face when dealing with insurance companies will across Canada.

We propose fostering education about these challenges within our country. By doing so, we can empower repair shops, employees and policy holders to voice out loudly against these injustices.

We call upon all stakeholders - from technicians and shop owners, to customers and policy holders - to join us in this fight for fairness within the autobody repair industry. Your support will help bring much-needed change in policies that govern pay rates and reimbursement procedures.

Let's stand together against corruption; let's advocate for fair compensation; let's initiate education on the autobody repair industry challenges today! Please sign this petition if you believe in our cause.
