Initiate Public Camping Solutions for Single, Homeless Individuals

The Issue

Our society tends to overlook single adults who are struggling with homelessness. No dependents, no help - that seems to be the motto. I speak from personal experience. Three years ago, my family and I lost our home. We found ourselves existing from one hotel room to another, my 40+ hour work week paycheck merely keeping a roof over our head. I know the despair that comes from living in such impossible circumstances, and I refuse to sit silently by as others endure the same. I propose an achievable and cost-effective solution: camping provisions for those without dependents. Regular, safe campsites with amenities such as bathrooms and a way to cook food with assigned workers to check on the homeless group once a week, could significantly help.

Across Europe, sanctioned campgrounds have been a successful means of assisting those who are homeless, providing them shelter, and sanitation. Clearly, this is a feasible plan. We won't change the entire homelessness landscape overnight, but we can surely start bringing about a significant shift, one campground at a time.

Stand with us today and help make a difference in the lives of those people who for too long have been invisible in our society's eyes. Your voice matters. Your voice can be the difference between despair and hope for those struggling with single-status homelessness. Please sign this petition today. In doing so, you're declaring that you believe in a world where everyone has access to basic living necessities. And together, we can start making that world a reality.
