Initiate a 'Deny, Defend, Depose' Healthcare Revolution!

The Issue

This petition begins on a personal note that rings true for far too many families. My son's life was tragically cut short because of a fatal mistake at our local hospital. Left with the pain of losing a child, my family was delivered another blow when we received a crippling $40,000 medical bill, one the insurance company refused to cover because my son passed away as a result of a procedure the hospital performed in order to attempt to fix their mistake.

Not only were my husband and I faced with exorbitant healthcare costs, even with our two private family healthcare plans and the Medicaid Waiver my son had, but this monstrous bill demonstrated a complete lack of compassion on the part of our insurance company. The experience has highlighted the stark reality of lifetime caps that insurance companies place, causing families like mine to bear the financial burden of medical necessities such as AFO braces and wheelchairs, and for others, cancer treatments.

Now, on the wake of Luigi Mangione's heartbreaking story that united a nation previously divided, I am calling for a revolution within our healthcare system. I ask you to join me in initiating the 'Deny, Defend, Depose' Healthcare Revolution, seeking to overhaul the current structures that leave Americans in pain, financially destitute, or worse yet, dead. A heartfelt plea from a mother who has felt the brunt of this broken system: let's change this.

We, the undersigned citizens of the United States of America, propose the following reforms to the healthcare system:

  • Universal Adherence to the Affordable Care Act: Mandate that all public and private health insurance providers comply with the provisions of the Affordable Care Act.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Enforce the coverage of all medically necessary treatments and procedures as determined by licensed healthcare providers.
  • Elimination of Conflicting Interests: Prohibit financial incentives that influence physician and healthcare facility decisions regarding drug prescriptions and treatment choices.
  • In-Network Access: Ensure that all healthcare providers are included within insurance networks, eliminating out-of-network costs for patients
  • Removal of lifetime caps on insurance policy payouts.

Our collective voices can push for an insurance model that doesn't shun those in their greatest need. It is a call for empathy, understanding, and most importantly, change. We deserve a healthcare revolution where human life is valued more than any bottom line. Please sign this petition and let's initiate this much-needed change together.
