Petition to Regulate and Standardize the Pricing of 100 Low Lead Aviation Fuels

We, the undersigned, are aviators, aviation professionals, and enthusiasts who are deeply concerned about the indiscriminate and often exorbitant pricing of 100 low lead (100LL) aviation fuels. This issue not only impacts our ability to operate efficiently but also threatens the sustainability of general aviation, particularly for smaller aircraft.

Our primary concerns include:

 1. Inconsistent Pricing: The cost of 100LL aviation fuel varies significantly from one location to another, with some providers charging far above the average market price. This inconsistency places an undue financial burden on pilots and aviation operators.

 2. Accessibility Issues: High and unpredictable fuel prices can lead to reduced accessibility to flying, discouraging new pilots and impacting flight training schools.

 3. Economic Impact: The aviation industry contributes significantly to the economy. Exorbitant fuel prices can hinder the growth and sustainability of small aviation businesses and flight schools.

 4. Price Discrepancy with Jet Fuel: The price of jet fuel is often a quarter of the price of 100LL, despite similar production and distribution processes. This stark price discrepancy is unjustifiable and unsustainable for general aviation.

We, therefore, call upon our government to take the following actions:
