Dealing with this political climate is like playing whack-a-mole.
WATCH OUT FOR HB 1001 which just passed by healthy majority vote and is now in the Senate. They are trading kids for the "positive" points in this bill. Even in legislation, they are theoretically human trafficking. Who wants to trade children's safety for no passports? This is totally unconstitutional! This is insanity.

With all the attention on what’s happening with Education, one can miss what’s going on “behind the scenes”.
Please vote “NO” on HB 1001. Two nefarious points:
1. NO to vaccinating children 5 to 11 – this is a PARENTAL RIGHT to decide if their child will be vax’d or not
2. NO to removing penalties to employers who don’t provide religious exemptions – this is an attempt to cripple our economy
Right now, the blame for the failure to lift the Emergency Order rests squarely on Holcomb’s shoulders. This bill is blackmail. Don’t transfer his liability to the shoulders of you all because you think some of this bill is good… when a bad portion of the bill just cancers the whole pot. This is wrong.
My industry’s legislative lobbying arm put out this information on the bill:
HB 1001 - Administrative Authority, authored by Representative Matt Lehman (R – Berne), provides for the three changes the Governor requested to lift the public health emergency--allow enhanced federal matching funds for Medicaid expenditures to continue, allow the secretary of family and social services administration to issue an emergency declaration for purposes of participating in specified authorized federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and allow for the vaccination of children ages 5 to 11. In addition, it prohibits Indiana governmental entities from requiring immunization passports and prohibits an employer from requiring employees to receive a COVID-19 immunization unless the employer allows for exemptions. The House amended the bill to remove the penalty for employers who don’t grant exemptions and prohibit employment contracts contradicting the bill’s language. The full House passed the bill 58-35 and sent the bill to the Senate, where the process will start.
