Sorry I haven't updated in a bit.  Huge software migration at my office and yesterday pulled a 19-hour day, four hours of sleep and up at 5 AM this morning.  I am a relatively productive person, so it's been jam-packed.

My intent is to speak again at the next school board meeting and present a small speech and some of the comments on the petition.  Folks, I don't know if we will get anywhere... but I sure am going to do my very best.   If you feel compelled, go to the Lebanon Community School District website to find out when the next meeting is (I don't have it on hand at the moment to verify) and maybe you just stand, or sit, alongside me.  I am fine going it alone, if you want to remain behind the scenes, but someone has to stand and someone has to be willing to make a public stand... and then, hopefully, by the grace of God... more will find the confidence to stand, too!  We realize there is a certain element of danger weathering a storm alone and my daughter and I are willing.  She may suffer at school for the actions of her Mom, but I've not grown a shrinking violet and I'm proud of her bravery in adversity.  I'm also not opposed to taking her right out of that school, but we are reticent to do that, because we are stubborn and feel we are having a "stand our ground" moment.  That school belongs to us, too, and if we leave... we give up ground.  I'm for standing and advancing, not backing down.

Adversity?  We've had some.  Apparently, there is a whole slew of people out there who don't think kids need protecting.  Well, I'm not one of those.  If they don't like what I'm doing, they can walk on by and I truly hope that their lives are never touched by an ounce of bias, discrimination, or loss of liberty.   But, as for me and my house, we stand for God, the Constitution, the flag and firmly believe that the enemy doesn't just outright steal your freedoms... it gradually encroaches, until your just slightly uncomfortable... then it takes a good long pause until your comfortable again.  Then, it encroaches again.  And again.  And again... until one day you wake up and you don't even recognize where you are or realize how you got there, or how this loss of liberty has occurred.  Sound familiar in this unusual age we are living in?

I pray you all fight the good fight.  Fight hard.  Fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's Ark... and it's starting to rain.  Let's stand together.  In service to you, yours, and mine... Joan
