Petition Update Met with Rep Hamilton

Petition update: 9/21/2026
Hey folks, a lot of information here:
We just hit 144 signatures. Yes, we have a way to go but we are moving forwards. Thank you to all that have signed, shared and even pitched in some funds to help get the word out.
The big update is we met with State Representative Carey Hamilton. She wants to meet with us again! We had a productive meeting. She sounded very interested and asked us to do some more research about other states that have similar tax credits. So far only New York and Colorado have anything close to our proposal. I will post a summary of those below. I have also made a list of Indiana solar panel manufactures and solar installers to share with Rep Hamilton and a more finished version of the proposal. I will list those below as well. Here is the link to the representative’s Bio Carey Hamilton — Indiana House Democratic Caucus. Feel free to email her and ask her to please support this tax credit. She is definitely on the right side of this topic and is also on the committees that could move this forward. If we can get Rep Hamilton on board hopefully, we can get some good state wide attention and support. I plan on scheduling our next meeting soon.
Once again, thank you for your support and please keep sharing the petition.
Peace,
Joseph H Curtis

Reason why the Indiana Tax Credit for energy storage/solar generator proposal would help more people that the current energy storage tax credits in NY and CO.
· Neither New York or Colorado’s incentives directly address energy storage or solar generators for the purpose of back-up power in the event of black outs.
· New York Offers a tax credit per kw of energy storage vs Colorado’s 10% rebate off total cost of equipment (No Labor). New York’s per kw payment is fair, but the strait $5,000 would provide more benefit for a smaller system. You would not have to spend more to save more.
