The new schedule at Metea, Neuqua, and Waubonsie Valley High School is very detrimental to students who choose to stay remote for the rest of the semester. With the hour break between 3rd and 4th block being cut out, as well as the 10 minute passing periods being cut down to 5 minutes, remote learning students will not have the time they need to refresh, stand up and stretch, get a snack, etc. before logging on to their next class.

Sitting down and staring at a screen all day for 5 days a week during a pandemic makes it incredibly hard for students to focus and actually enjoy learning. I know so many students including myself that find it hard to sit through the first three blocks already, adding on another class period with no break in between will affect student's ability to focus and participate in class. This alone can be harmful to students mental health and academics. The 10 minute breaks we had gave students enough time for a mental break before returning to our computers and continuing the rest of school, with our breaks are cut in half, we don't have much time to do anything other than go to the bathroom. This adds to the struggle of doing school remotely.

Please sign this petition if you believe that our old remote schedule is more beneficial to you than the new one and we should change it back. Thank you!
