Indian Govt: Intervene & Investigate Why My Son Was Shot Dead in Canada #JusticeForKartik

The Issue

My 21-year-old son, Kartik died after being shot eight times outside a subway station in Toronto, Canada on April 7. When I last spoke to him that day, he said he was heading to work. I’m desperate for answers as I try to come to terms with losing my child. Sign my petition so that we get answers and Kartik’s killers are punished.

Like many Indian parents, I worked hard day and night so that I could send Kartik to Canada to study Global Management at Toronto-based Seneca University. To make ends meet, as a student he also worked part-time at a Mexican restaurant. He made our entire family proud.

Kartik had said he would come home for the summer holidays, but he returned home in a coffin.

Who did this to him? Why my son? The motive of the attack is still unclear. The Toronto Police have arrested one suspect and the next hearing is expected to be on April 20.

My wife and I just cremated our boy. Shocked and numb with pain, we will be traveling to Canada to get answers. We believe that if the Government of India intervenes and speaks to the Canadian authorities, this matter will get the attention it deserves and we will have a chance of fair justice

I request every Indian reading this to please sign our petition so that the authorities understand the urgency of this issue. Kartik was the son of this country. He could have made India proud.
