Turtles of India are poached ,traded, slaughtered for meat or sacrificed in the name of religion in India as well as other parts of the world . Since no stringent laws are present to prevent this , the turtles have been indiscriminately poached over the years to the extent that many species of indian turtles are now on the verge of extinction according to the international community. It is an urgent appeal to the government of India to quickly take steps towards ensuring the protection of turtles by making strict laws in regards to poaching and provide maximum security to areas of rare turtles habitat . Let's save our turtles before there are none left to save!
