The Issue

Living in the proximity of Ranch Road 2222 between Mopac and 360 in Austin has become a daily challenge. It's not only about the continuous noise disruption caused by motorcyclists who ride laps and race on this curvy stretch of road, but most importantly, the risky driving has become a serious safety hazard for motorists.

The reckless motorcyclists have become an incessant nuisance, disrupting the peace in our neighborhood. This isn't about suppressing the thrill of motorcycle riding - it is simply a pressing need to keep our streets safe for everyone using them. Many of the motorcyclists that ride back and forth in this area have obscured or are lacking license plates, violating the legal requirement for motorcycle to be ridden on public streets. The exhaust systems and riding in low gear are creating excessive noise pollution. Finally, street racing is an illegal activity.

This is a call for our city officials and TXDOT to institute active traffic control measures and/or noise ordinances in this area, to discourage this inconsiderate and reckless driving. Additional monitoring and enforcement on this identified key stretch. It's a public cry for measures to protect our lives and restore peace in our community.

City of Austin and TXDOT we demand that you recognize this situation for what it is - a public safety issue that needs your attention. Please, take concrete and immediate actions to control the reckless motorcycle activity on 2222.
