Gina Hinojosa is an American lawyer and politician serving as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing the 49th District. She assumed office on January 10, 2017, succeeding Elliott Naishtat, who chose not to seek re-election. Hinojosa holds a Bachelor's degree in Government from the University of Texas and a Juris Doctor from George Washington University. In addition to her legislative work, she has been involved in various roles, including serving as an attorney at Kator, Parks, & Weiser and as a Development Coordinator at the Equal Justice Center. Her dedication to public service is also evident from her time as a member and President of the Austin Independent School Board. She continues to advocate for her constituents as a committed member of the Democratic Party.
