As a contractual MBBS doctor, I find myself deeply disheartened by the current state of compensation for our invaluable services. Despite the vital role we play in providing healthcare, we are paid an unrevised and meager salary of just 60,000 INR. This is not only unfair but unsustainable, especially given the current economic climate where expenses and inflation are steadily rising.

While many professionals across various sectors have received regular increments and revised salaries, contractual doctors like myself have been overlooked. We dedicate long hours to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all, often working in challenging conditions. It's imperative that our salaries are increased to at least 90,000 INR, a figure that better reflects the nature of our work and the qualifications we possess. This increment is not just about keeping up with inflation, but also about recognizing and valuing the crucial work that contractual MBBS doctors are doing across the country.

Statistics show that healthcare workers are at the frontline, not only in hospitals but as pillars of community health. Yet, when their compensation doesn't adequately reflect this, it can lead to burnout, dissatisfaction, and a decrease in the quality of care provided.

I urge the governing bodies and health department officials to take immediate action to revise and increase the salaries of contractual MBBS doctors. It's high time that we acknowledge the vital contributions of these doctors by providing fair compensation that aligns with their skills and dedication.
