My grandfather was a survivor of a school shooting, and he suffered so much after it and he wished that nobody else had to suffer. School should be a safe haven for students, but unfortunately, incidents of violence are on the rise. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, there were 96 school shootings with casualties in the United States during the 2020-2021 school year alone. 12 people, mostly children, die of gun violence every day. this is unacceptable. every day, at least 12 parents have to hear this: "I am sorry, miss/sir, you son/daughter has died in a school shooting." 12 parents have to suffer from their children being dead. people should not be scared to send their kids to school. We need comprehensive safety measures including increased security personnel, mental health resources, and stricter gun control laws to ensure that no student or teacher has to experience such tragedies again. Please sign this petition to urge lawmakers and educational institutions to prioritize safety in our schools. help us keep all children safe in school. if one person writes a letter, it will be ignored, if 10,000 people write letters, it will have to be recognized.
