Many of the businesses at "The Arcade Business Center", situated at 1808 S Main Street (Legal address, the business are 1740-1776 S Main St)  in Santa Ana, have been there for many decades. However, over time, the safety of this historic South Main Business District has deteriorated, affecting our business, employees, and customers alike. We are not alone in this situation; several other businesses in the area share our concerns. Without adequate surveillance and security, our cherished community hotspot is becoming a dangerous place to frequent. Santa Ana ranks higher in crime rates compared to the national average, and this affects local businesses and the community adversely (source: City-Data). Moreover, the risk posed to people is not just a statistic. It results in real fear and anxiety that deters patrons and threatens our business's sustainability. We aren't just looking for protection; we're looking for the restoration of peace and security that will allow our businesses and community to thrive. We request the city of Santa Ana and the police department to enhance their efforts in safeguarding our business district by increasing police patrols in the region. Kindly sign this petition to compel our authorities to make the city safer for businesses and citizens alike. We are asking the assistance from the police department to increase police activity in the area to help keep people safe from transients, people under the influence, and gang members hanging around the immediate area.
