Mizzou continues to grow its student population each year, but with this growth comes an increasing strain on campus resources.

Currently, parking availability is extremely insufficient relative to the number of students admitted. The limited spaces lead not only to unnecessary stress and wasted time for students trying to find parking, but also to exorbitant costs associated with metered parking. For many full-time students, parking fees add up to nearly $500 a semester, making it a significant financial burden for those already struggling with tuition and living expenses.

This petition urges the university administration to address these concerns by expanding on-campus parking facilities to accommodate the growing student body. More parking lots need to be constructed to meet demand, and metered parking should be reconsidered or at least redesigned to offer more affordable options for students. By re-evaluating the current parking infrastructure and fees, Mizzou can alleviate the financial pressures on its students and enhance their overall university experience.
