In 2021, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, a moment that changed my life forever. It wasn't just the physical pain or the emotional toll of these medical conditions that weighed on me. Instead, it was the stark realization that my dreams of building a family could be under threat due to a lack of accessible care.

Just a year later, I suffered from an ovarian abscess caused by these conditions, alongside Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. My right ovary is now non-functional, and an NHS consultant recommended that I freeze my eggs as soon as possible. I am only 27 years old. However, the cost of egg freezing is exorbitant and, shockingly, not covered by the NHS for those of us suffering from medical conditions that affect fertility. It's not our choice to have these conditions, but it is a choice to deny us the chance to preserve our fertility.

This issue extends beyond my personal struggle. Many women in Sale, Manchester, and across the UK are in similar situations. Thousands face the heart-wrenching realization of limited fertility options due to medical issues. Fertility treatment should not be a privilege but a right, especially when it's medically necessary due to health conditions beyond our control.

The NHS has always been a beacon of hope for medical care accessible to all. Yet, when it comes to fertility treatments for those of us with medical diagnoses affecting fertility, the funding falls short. **We need a change in policy!** This means providing NHS funding for fertility treatments, including egg freezing, for women who have diagnoses like endometriosis, adenomyosis, and other conditions that directly impact fertility.

Medical studies indicate that conditions like endometriosis affect about 1 in 10 women globally, and approximately 1 in 5 women in the UK face fertility challenges due to various medical conditions. These statistics underscore the urgency of our cause.
