Tiana 2020 started this petition to Increase mental health resources in Libya after the civil war and

This petition is about giving Libyan civilians and migrants more mental health resources at a time where people need it the most. After the civil war in 2014 in Libya, many children, men and women have been left traumatised and scarred by the events that had occurred. Gun shots and loud sounds still to this day trigger many. Myself included. Even though I don’t live in Libya anymore I am aware of the lack of mental health resources in my country and how people do not like talking about mental health. Although Libya currently isn’t in it’s best state, I hope the increase of mental health resources not only for Libyan civilians, but also for migrants and refugees in detention Centers will make a huge difference and gives the people hope for a bright future. Libyans need to have open conversations about mental health and not shy away from it because of the stigma around it in the middle east, especially at a time where so many young people are going down the wrong paths and have lost hope after the war. If this petition gets enough signs, I hope the world health Organization will take notice and spread more awareness about mental health in Libya and also spark conversations within schools as to why your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Pray for my country and the rest of the Middle Eastern countries who have been forgotten about.
