The Rosslyn Park National School Sevens Rugby Competition, touted as the world's largest school rugby tournament, reflects both the popularity and growing reach of this sport. However, there is currently a significant lack of provision for girls' rugby teams, leading to severe underrepresentation.  According to Sport England's Active Lives survey, almost 330,000 women are currently involved in rugby in the United Kingdom (Sport England, 2019). Despite this figure, female participation at the Rosslyn Park National School Sevens Competition remains lower than their male counterparts by an average of 78%. Considering the enthusiasm among young female players and the potential to drive a positive shift in attitudes towards girls' rugby, we believe that an increase in provision for girls' teams at this prestigious competition is not only feasible but also integral to the growth and inclusivity of the sport.
