Hey all! 🩷 We have made a HUGE push and are now at almost 300 signatures! Big shoutout to Roseann W. for sending a link to the petition to folks individually asking each person to sign. That accounted for 8 new signatures! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It’s a vital time for this petition and for awareness around this issue to grow. 📉 A new report reveals that 1 in 3 counties in America are considered maternal health-care deserts. Giving birth in rural areas is already especially high-risk, and public policy is about to make an already dire situation even worse. Now, massive cuts to Medicaid, which covers more than 40% of US births and an even greater share in rural areas, could put further pressure on rural hospitals and force more to close. And these risks are not shared equally.
