My personal experience with airlines has been disappointing and frustrating. I've experienced several instances of overbooking and flight cancellations, and it's clear that the current €600 compensation is insufficient to cover the cost, time, stress, and damages incurred. What's most outrageous is that some airlines offer additional "compensation" in the form of discounts if you choose to continue using their services, demonstrating that they can afford to pay much more.

Traveling involves more than just the cost of the ticket; it also requires significant effort in booking accommodation, coordinating transfers, and organizing activities—all of which are disrupted when a flight is canceled or passengers are left without a seat because the airline has sold more tickets than available seats. Current laws do not adequately protect passengers, incentivizing airlines to continue these practices since the financial penalty is minimal compared to the convenience they derive from perpetuating these abuses.

Therefore, it is crucial to demand more realistic and fair compensation, of at least €3,000 to €4,000, so that airlines have a real incentive not to resort to overbooking and ensure that their flights are not abruptly canceled. This measure would not only protect passengers but also encourage greater responsibility and customer service from the airline industry.

I invite everyone affected by these unfair practices to join this petition to pressure the relevant authorities to make significant changes to airline compensation regulations. Signing this petition is a vital step in speaking out against these practices and demanding the fair treatment all passengers deserve. Sign and make your voice heard today!
