It’s time for McDonald’s UK to expand its menu to include gluten-free options, as is already the case in other countries. For example, McDonald’s locations in Sweden and Finland successfully offer gluten-free burgers and buns to cater to their coeliac customers and those with gluten intolerance. I understand Italy also have prepackaged items to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. By taking this step, McDonald's UK can ensure that every child and adult, regardless of dietary restrictions, can relish their food without worry.
The incidence of coeliac disease is on the rise, with approximately 1 in 100 people affected. The provision of gluten-free options would make a significant difference in the lives of many who live with this condition, offering them the freedom to eat out with family and friends without concern or inconvenience.
