In Memory of Preston Davey: A Call for Better Child Protection

We are calling for a full review of the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of baby Preston Davey and for urgent improvements to child protection systems.

Reports indicate that there were multiple opportunities for intervention before Preston lost his life. When warning signs are identified, every agency involved has a responsibility to act to protect vulnerable children.

No family should have to endure such a tragedy, and no child should be failed by the systems designed to keep them safe.

We call for:

Accountability where safeguarding failures are identified.
Improved communication and information sharing between agencies.
Enhanced safeguarding training for professionals working with children and families.
