This petition is to request our current NT Chief Minister now Eva Lawler add into the Victim of Crimes legislation. A owner of a pet can access a Victim of crime payment when vet medical attention is needed or pet dies due to crime. Payment to assist with vet bills, burial or cremation. Pet owners "SHOULD NOT" be forced to pay such high bills due to criminal activity. 

 

Pet deaths and or pet harm should  be included in the stat's of crime and loss of life.

Over the years in the Northern Territory many pets have been harmed or lost their lives due to stabbing, baiting, shot or acid, beastiality,  murder.

Sadly Mokie in the photo died horrifically due to baiting in an attempt to rob the owners home in Darwin. 

No amount of money will ever bring a life back nor will it take the gut wrenching heart pain away but it could be a little help to the financial stress during a traumatic incident. Not everyone has human family but have a life saver, a companion, a reason to live in their pet

Pet owners deserve compensation, pets deserve recognition. Pets are feel pets suffer too.

Since Adam Britton has put the Northern Territory in the eyes of the world not just Australia as the worst cruelty case known. This person killed many many dogs, other people's pets who trusted him to give a good home too.

Horses have been harmed, these people have no care who they hurt or murder.

Let our government know that pet lives matter too.

Just this month 2 pet dogs have been baited loosing their fight for lives. 

Our NT Labour GOVERNMENT needs to acknowledge these family members & their grieving owners. This will mean police have to be available and take statements when crime on pets occur too regardless if an offender will or will not be found. 

This will require vets to assist in findings in cause of death too.

Eva Lawler a life is a life regardless where the heart beats, we all bleed red including our pets, if you don't want to endure this cost then stop the dam crime. 

Territory pets matter too.
