Stop killing Street dogs in Pakistan
Stop killing Street dogs in Pakistan
The Issue
In Pakistan, especially in big cities such as Karachi and Lahore, killing dogs is considered the only solution to ‘control’ the growing population of the strays.
The government of Pakistan has no animal protection laws, no criminal offence laws against animal abusers and an open policy of killing stray dogs on an yearly basis. There are no animal rescue schemes or shelters provided by the government. The concept of shelter for animals or animal rescue organizations in Pakistan is far from reality. Even the general public appreciates the killing of thousands of dogs each year.
This needs to be stopped in this barbaric, backward and narrow-minded country where dogs are considered pests instead of pets and general public appreciates dog culls instead of saving them.
