Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition. Please please leave any comments and share with anyone who uses the playground and would like to see changes. As this will help to support our case and can influence the decision makers.

Good evening

 

A resident has got in touch with us regarding the condition of Boxers lake play area. She has also set up a petition which has 117 signatories in only a few days.

I have attended the play area twice this weekend and there are issues that need attention.

 

Can we please look at the following:

 

1. Provision of 1 or 2 more bins. They often overflow.

2. Provision of 2 or more benches, in shaded area if possible.

3. Enforcement action against dogs being brought into the play area, especially in evenings when this seems to be an issue. There has been repeated recent incidents of dog mess and I have seen pictures.

4. A thorough litter pick - it was full of plastic bottles, wet wipes and other litter this weekend.

5. A full review of the condition of fencing and play apparatus with cleaning / jet spraying / graffiti removal / repainting / refurbishment, as required.

6. Replenishing the sandpit with more sand.

7. A look at the maintenance of verges and pathways.

8. Weed killer for some of the weeds near the apparatus.

 

I would be pleased to meet any council officer at the play area for an inspection.
