Hi again,

We got some good news that will help make Oak Park Avenue in our neighborhood safer from Oak Park's Vision Zero initiative. As a reminder, Vision Zero aims to make sure everyone in Oak Park can walk, bike, take public transit, and drive on streets that are safe. Many of us submitted our comments during the data collection phase.

You can see how the Vision Zero Action Plan addresses our neighborhood's needs specifically on a few key pages: 16, 18, 19, and 30 (PDF page #s). Many of the crossings in our neighborhood that we highlighted during the data collection are now part of the action plan!

Our work is not done! While Vision Zero will address Oak Park Avenue and Jackson Blvd, it does NOT address what is needed to the north on Oak Park Avenue - especially Oak Park and Adams. You may have missed it, but a car ended up on the lawn of our neighbors the O'Sheas just last week -- and that is not the first time!

Scott Kozicki has volunteered to help collect the signatures necessary for a traffic study - that should lead to making the Oak Park and Adams intersection safer. We need signatures from people who live on Oak Park Avenue - the 600 block especially.

If you live on the 600 block of Oak Park Avenue, please get in touch with Scott and he will coordinate an easy way for you to sign the document required to get the traffic study done. You can reach Scott at scottkozicki@gmail.com

Please feel free to reach out with any questions to the Center West Oak Park Neighborhood Association email - cwopna@gmail.com.
