The state of North Carolina Needs reformation of current requirements to determine if someone is of “moral and good character” before obtaining a gun permit.

We are urging the governor and elected officials to create a Mental Health task force to work on creating more stringent guidelines and processes that will be standardized and used statewide.

If we can join together in doing so, we have the opportunity to decrease the possibility of lethal weapons getting into the hands of disturbed individuals who have been required to engage in rigorous assessment procedures.

The mental health task force for gun control will have the opportunity to decrease stigma, increase safety measures and maintain integrity in gun sales across the state.
