As a regular patron of Cranky Pat's in Green Bay, WI, I have witnessed firsthand the danger that comes with crossing Bellevue Street. I am also a nurse who attempted to perform CPR on a woman who tragically lost her life here on February 14th, 2024. This incident was not an isolated one - there have been many near misses over the years due to inadequate street lighting and lack of lighted crosswalks.

The issue has been brought before the city council multiple times but remains unaddressed. The lack of proper lighting has created an unsafe environment for pedestrians and motorists alike. On Bellevue Street alone, there has been one fatality and another serious injury within just this year.

We must remember that public safety is paramount in any community. It is high time that the City of Green Bay takes decisive action to prevent further accidents from occurring at this location by installing more street lights and lighted crosswalks near Cranky Pat's.
