GOOD NEWS FIRST
The Downtown Parks Conservancy, Downtown Dallas, Inc., District 14 Council member Paul Ridley, and District 14 Parks Board rep Rudy Karimi have delivered:
- Tree trimming, which looks fabulous and opens up the table area
- Regular patrols of Dallas Marshals to the park
They are currently working on:
- Improving park lighting
- Fixing the police cameras on the corners of Main/Murphy and Commerce/Murphy
NOW, THE BAD NEWS
There was a stabbing in the Civic Garden table area today around 1pm in broad daylight.
- This incident continues to highlight the wisdom in removing tables and repurposing the gravel area into an unpaved pathway.
Up to this point, Downtown Dallas, Inc. has pushed back at removing the tables.
- Maybe this incident will get them to see the light?
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please write to Downtown Dallas, Inc. and ask what would get them to reconsider going from 11 tables down to 3 or 3-4 and repurposing the area into an unpaved pathway.
