Improve safety at Primrose Hill park with regular police patrols and CCTV

The Issue

I have lived opposite Primrose Hill park for over 30 years and use the park daily. It is an important and heavily used public space, but in recent years the sense of safety has clearly declined.

Following two fatal incidents in the park in recent years, there is growing concern among local residents. Visible policing is extremely limited and often absent during normal use of the park and anti-social behaviour has increased, including open drug use and a general lack of enforcement of basic park rules.

Primrose Hill is used by families, young people and visitors throughout the day and should feel safe at all times. At present, it does not feel that there is a consistent or visible deterrent in place.

This is not a complex issue. A regular, visible police presence would act as a clear deterrent, and CCTV at entrances and key points would support both prevention and investigation when incidents occur.

These are practical, proportionate measures that would help restore confidence and improve safety in a well-used public space.

We are calling on the relevant authorities to act now, before another serious incident occurs.
