Improve Safety and Reliability of LAX Employee West Lot Bus Operations

The Issue

As a regular user of the LAX West Lot Bus, I have experienced firsthand the issues plaguing its operations. The buses are unreliable, often forcing riders to arrive 90 minutes early for their check-in. This not only disrupts our schedules but also adds unnecessary stress to our work day.

Furthermore, the bus service is being exploited by non-West Lot users including random passengers and homeless individuals. This results in actual West Lot users having to wait for a new bus or endure overcrowded conditions similar to being packed like sardines. In some instances, we are even forced to walk all the way to West Lot or the airport.

Safety is another major concern at the West Lot. There have been incidents where employees were followed by homeless individuals all the way to their cars. Tires have been slashed and guard gates left open for days on end, exposing us all to potential danger.

These issues not only affect my personal safety but also that of many others who rely on this service daily. We need immediate action from responsible authorities for better management of these operations.

We call upon our leaders, Mayor Karen Bass, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) officials to address these concerns urgently - improve reliability of LAX West Lot Employee buses, ensure access is limited only to legitimate users, ensure security measures at West lot are implemented and maintained and nonstop routes to the terminals are instituted immediately.

Please sign this petition if you believe in making LAX's Employee West Lot Parking transportation services safe and reliable for everyone who uses them.
