The Issue

I've loved Mortal Kombat since I first picked up a controller in the 90s from the home ports to the arcade. Playing these games in the 90s was an experience. From the iconic "Finish Him!" These games have  brought laughter and excitement to countless gatherings with my friends and family. It’s more than just a game; it’s a bonding experience that has been pivotal in shaping friendships and creating shared memories for people all across the globe . But, lately, the fun has been dampened by online play issues that make it feel like the game's underwater. These classic games don’t deserve this the Mk community doesn’t deserve this.

Times have changed and Mk online is how we make those memories with are friends and family now.But this is particularly challenging for our friends in Australia,  parts of the US and other countries , where the rollback netcode is causing significant issues. The Mortal Kombat community, made up of dedicated and passionate gamers who payed top dollar often buying multiple copies of the game for each console that deserves a seamless gaming experience regardless of geographical location. We are calling on Digital Eclipse to prioritize implementing solid, effective rollback netcode for the Mortal Kombat legacy collection, making crossplay enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

Rollback netcode is a crucial component in fighting games today, as it minimizes input delays and ensures a seamless experience across regions. With a fair and even playing field, we can strengthen and expand our community. Countries like Australia often face challenges with online gaming due to their remote locations, leading to lag and connectivity issues. A robust netcode would benefit all players who find geographic location a barrier.

In light of these challenges, we believe there are clear steps Digital Eclipse can take. Collaborating with network specialists to enhance the netcode, conducting global server tests, and actively listening to player feedback can vastly improve the online gameplay experience for Mortal Kombat fans worldwide.

We understand that adjustments can be complicated, but the passionate, tight-knit Mortal Kombat community is always ready to support betterment. When the chips are down, we stand united. Let's keep Mortal Kombat thriving by making it accessible to all.

Join us in pressing for change. Signing this petition means supporting gamers everywhere who simply want to enjoy the thrill of Mortal Kombat with no hindrances. Long live Mortal Kombat!
