Hi everyone.
Today marks 2 years to the date I gave blood samples that were sent to NHS Blood and Transplant to be tested to check if the non-specific reaction had disappeared. I didn’t get the outcome I wanted, but I refused to give up.
I was eventually informed by Email from NHSBT in October 2024 that although the non-specific reaction had persisted, it had reduced over time (NHSBT should have notified me of this sooner) and that I would be invited to give another donation/sample in 2 years’ time. I have not heard from them yet, but I decided the petition text needed some adjustments to focus more on the issue (which I have rewritten in BLOCK CAPITALS in the petition) than my own experience as an example.
I would like to remind everyone that this petition is not about me. It is about NHS Blood and Transplant improving their systems for testing donated blood. I encourage my supporters to not give up. Any fit and healthy people out there who have been suspended/withdrawn from giving blood because of technical issues, keep fighting for your cause. Do not give in.
Please share this petition and spread the word about the importance of this issue.
Thanks again everyone.
