After recently purchasing a dwarf hamster, it became painfully clear to me how significant the space and proper care needs are for these tiny creatures. Observing the conditions at Pets at Home, I realized that the living arrangements for the animals there are completely inadequate and unacceptable. The tanks are the smallest possible. There is no stimulation, and there's not nearly enough bedding for hamsters to burrow and feel comfortable. The running wheels provided to them are even all wrong. It's heart-breaking.

The same concerning conditions apply to other pets, like rabbits, rats, and guinea pigs. They live in fish-tank-sized enclosures, staring at the four walls all day and night. This type of confinement and lack of care is unacceptable.

It is high time that Pets at Home takes responsibility and improves conditions for the animals in their care. With an increased awareness of animal welfare, it is shocking that a major pet retailer is allowing these conditions to persist. Every pet deserves a life with ample space, appropriate stimulation, and conditions that mimic their natural habitat as much as possible.

Why not have larger enclosures with interactive elements for stimulation? More bedding for burrowing creatures and correctly sized running wheels can make a substantial difference. Enhanced living conditions aren't just luxury; they are a necessity for a healthy, happy life for these animals.

We, as a community of pet lovers, demand that Pets at Home implements changes to reflect better living standards. Every small step can lead to significant improvements in their quality of life.
