Growing up, I spent a significant amount of time in hospitals both here in the UK and abroad. Despite the excellent care I received from the Doctors and Nurses, one aspect continually let me down: the hospital food. Everyday, I was served meals that were not only tasteless but and devoid of essential nutrients needed for recovery. It was disappointing, to say the least, especially when you're so ill. 

Improved hospital food will significantly lift patients spirit, speed up recovery times, and even reduce the length of hospital stays, which can ultimately lower healthcare costs. 

I call on the UK Government to prioritise health by improving hospital food standards.  Some hospitals have a budget of £2.40 a day per patient to fund 3 meals. This is a startling statistic that needs to change!
