My personal journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) spans over 20 years. I have tirelessly dedicated my years to this profession, only to witness firsthand a disheartening change in our treatment from wonderful to outright deplorable. We, the CNAs, form the bedrock of every healthcare structure, yet we are often overlooked and underappreciated.

In Nevada, as in the rest of the USA, we work around-the-clock, often in highly stressful and demanding environments, while our wages remain stagnant. Unfortunately, a study by the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals that the median annual wage for nursing assistants was merely $29,660 in May 2019, and it hasn't seen a significant increase since then.

It is time to elevate this issue, and demand an economical change for all Certified Nursing Assistants in Nevada and across the country. Not only should we fight for better compensation, but also for fairer working conditions and appreciation that reflects our indispensable role in healthcare. We call on the Nevada State Government, to implement policies that support and protect the welfare and economic prosperity of CNAs.
