Manager Kelly Hannon says her department has investigated Finkley's complaint and has confirmed that heavy rain had washed stones into the travel lanes. She says VDOT is in the process of addressing the issue.

"We are planning to lower this drainage ditch to prevent the stone and gravel from washing into the travel lanes after heavy rain. In the interim, we will monitor this area closely following heavy rain, and sweep loose stone from the travel lanes," Hannon said.
