My Husband and I recently experienced a horrific accident whilst on holiday in Lanzarote. 
In the midst of chaos, we realised that we didn't know the local emergency number. 

Time was of the essence, and Googling wasn't an option, lives were at stake. It was afterwards that I understood how crucial it is to have access to our home country's emergency services from anywhere in the world.

Imagine being in a foreign country during an emergency and not knowing who to call for help. It's a terrifying thought that many travellers face every day. According to the World Health Organization, each year there are 1.35 million road traffic deaths globally (source: WHO). Many of these fatalities occur among tourists unfamiliar with local emergency numbers.

We propose a global system where anyone can dial their home country's emergency number from any location worldwide and be connected with their native emergency services who can then coordinate with local authorities as needed.

This change could save countless lives by ensuring immediate access to help when seconds count most.
