The Issue

As a resident of the neighborhood, I have witnessed first-hand the positive impact that upgrading facilities can have on our community spaces. Recently, I observed the joy and improved experience at the newly updated Saint Andrews Park, where the wood chips were replaced with turf in the dog park area. It’s a simple yet effective transformation that has made the park cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable for our pets and their owners.

Seeing these benefits inspired me to advocate for a similar upgrade at Grange Park. The current wood chip surface often becomes messy and muddy, especially after rain, posing a risk of injury to both pets and owners. Turf offers a more stable and hygienic surface, reducing maintenance and allowing for use year-round. Additionally, this change would elevate the experience for all park-goers, promoting a healthier and more pleasant environment for our beloved pets.

The cost associated with replacing wood chips with turf is relatively low compared to the immense benefits it would bring to our community. Enhanced safety and cleanliness, increased park usage, and happier residents are achievable with this minor yet impactful improvement.

I urge the local council to prioritize this upgrade and bring the Grange Park dog park up to par with the improvements at Saint Andrews Park. Let's invest in our community and demonstrate our commitment to creating enjoyable, safe, and sustainable recreational spaces for all.

Please join me in signing this petition to make this much-needed upgrade a reality at Grange Park. Together, we can push for a positive change that benefits our pets, ourselves, and our neighborhood as a whole.
