Thank you for sharing concerns about stricter vetting for door-to-door sales permits in Livingston County. These matters are determined at the city, township, or village levels of government and are not regulated at the county level. County government does not issue solicitor permits and Michigan law does not grant counties the authority to regulate door-to-door soliciting via county ordinance. However, many local jurisdictions do issue such permits and efforts to encourage different procedures are best shared with your city, township, or village officials.
