I am a student who has witnessed firsthand the fear and disruption caused by threats of violence in my school. We've seen too many incidents, even within our own walls, where students have brought weapons to school. This not only interrupts our learning time but also poses a severe threat to our safety and well-being.

The issue of violence in schools is not isolated to my personal experience. It's a nationwide problem that has claimed too many innocent lives. The Nashville School Shooting involving Audrey Hale is just one example among countless others that highlight the urgent need for change.

According to Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, there were at least 67 incidents of gunfire on school grounds in 2020 alone, resulting in numerous injuries and deaths (source: Everytown Research & Policy). This statistic is alarming and unacceptable.

We need stricter security measures implemented across all schools nationwide. These measures should include thorough checks for weapons at entrances, increased surveillance within school premises, regular drills for emergency situations, as well as comprehensive education about the dangers of weapon use and violence.
