My grandmother Vyleen White, an innocent soul, was tragically stabbed to death in Redbank Plains QLD on the 03/02/2024. This devastating event has led me to realise the urgency of addressing gang-related and racially motivated violence in our community. It is a harsh reality that such incidents are not isolated but part of a growing trend.

According to the Australian Institute of Criminology, there has been a significant increase in gang violence over the past few years (source: Australian Institute of Criminology). Moreover, racially motivated crimes have also seen an alarming rise. These statistics are not just numbers; they represent real people like my grandmother who have suffered due to this escalating violence.

We need stricter laws and harsher punishments for these heinous crimes. Our current legal framework does not adequately deter potential offenders nor does it provide sufficient justice for victims and their families. We need reforms that will make our streets safer and ensure that no other family has to endure the pain we have experienced.

This petition calls on lawmakers in Redbank Plains QLD, Australia, to take immediate action by implementing stricter laws against gang-related activities and racial violence as well as imposing harsher penalties on those found guilty of such acts.
