I am a resident of Sparks, NV who has personally experienced the distress caused by industrial noise pollution. For months, my peace was disrupted by loud noises from a warehouse located just a mile away from my home. Despite repeated attempts to address this issue through local government channels, it was only when I filed a disturbing the peace complaint and appeared on the local news that changes began to occur.

This is not an isolated incident. Our county commissioners continue to approve businesses that disrupt our neighborhoods with loud noises during nighttime hours and build warehouses right up to our property line. There is currently no stringent noise ordinance in place, allowing companies to operate with little regard for long-term residents.

Moreover, there is no efficient process for citizens like us to file complaints against these disturbances. We should not have to go through exhaustive steps or rely on media attention just for our voices to be heard.

Our community deserves better. We deserve regulations that protect us from industrial noise pollution and unchecked expansion of businesses into residential areas.

We call upon the county commissioners of Washoe County to implement strict noise ordinances and establish clear guidelines limiting industrial expansion near residential zones. Additionally, we demand an accessible complaint filing process for residents affected by these issues.
