Implement Strict Criteria for Deplaning Passengers by Flight Attendants

The Issue

On a late-night flight from Mexico to New York, my 6-year-old son, who has autism and was not feeling well, vomited. Despite our efforts to clean up and reassure the crew that he was not feverish, we were forced off our flight by an unsympathetic flight attendant. This incident with American Airlines left us stranded and distressed.
It was our first time visiting Mexico. We had to spend another day there and cover all the expenses. American Airlines offered us nothing but a change of flight. Why are they able to get away with this?!!!

This is just one example of passengers being deplaned without valid reasons. We pay for our airfare and should be treated with respect rather than at the mercy of arbitrary decisions made by the flight crew. It's time to demand change!

There is currently no law requiring airlines to meet specific criteria before removing a passenger from a flight. This lack of regulation leaves room for potential abuse or discrimination against passengers, like my son, who have special needs.

The Department of Transportation reported over 2,000 complaints about airline customer service in 2020 alone (DOT Air Travel Consumer Report). These figures indicate that this issue affects many more people than just my family.

We call on lawmakers to enact legislation requiring airlines to establish clear criteria that must be met before deplaning a passenger. Such laws would protect passengers' rights and ensure fair treatment regardless of personal circumstances or perceived inconveniences.

Please sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment for all airline passengers!
